More Trees Please at Better Homes & Gardens LIVE

Kids enjoy planting up their own bean seed to take home.

This year’s message of ‘More Trees Please’ was proudly on show at Sydney Better Homes & Gardens LIVE, 2012. The event welcomed 32,255 visitors over the 14-16th of September, an 11% increase on last years attendance.

This is the second year that Better Homes & Gardens LIVE have allocated us a 6x3m space to promote the Improve your Plant/Life Balance message through kid’s activities. This year we also incorporated The Lorax – ‘Guardian of the trees’ into our stand with Universal Sony Picture Home Entertainment sending us photo-murals of the Lorax character for kids to have their photo with as well as DVD’s. Children (and adults) who visited our stand planted bean seeds into Jiffy pots take home to further improve their Plant/Life Balance. More

Momentum is building behind the new nursery industry market research project. The success of this project is paramount to ensuring the successful implementation of industry strategic planning.

This ambitious project seeks the support of all industry greenlife producers, allied traders and growing media suppliers in the collection of monthly industry statistics. With input into the project extending to producers and suppliers to primary industry, forestry and more, this project is the largest of its kind seen by the nursery industry.

“As Chairman of the IAC, I see this research as the most important levy project we have. The information collected will inform future levy project planning and enable us to accurately measure industry size and growth,” said David Matthews, Chairman of the Industry Advisory Committee, at a recent meeting in Victoria. “Participating businesses will have access to current industry data compared with their own, vital for effective strategic business development” he continued.

In 2012 you can help grow the urban forest on National Tree Day and every other day of the year.

“Urban forests are all the trees and plants in a suburb or city on both private and public land and not many people realise how important they are to our health and wellbeing,” said the CEO of Nursery & Garden Industry Australia, Robert Prince.
