Fee increases for import services

As of July 1st 2014 the Department of Agriculture is increasing fees for a number of biosecurity services related to import permits, declarations and container clearances.

Acording to the Department of Agriculture, the last fee review on import permits was undertaken in 2009. At present the import permit program is under recovering and inline with government cost recovery guidelines, the fees for the program will be adjusted to ensure cost recovery. It has been assured that the fee structure will be reviewed again for the 2015/15 financial year and fees reduced after the current program deficiet is addressed.
