The new challenge for ‘Business of the Year’ entrants

2015 is the 21st Anniversary for Nursery & Garden Industry’s industry awards competition.

In the 20 years previous to this one, the format, criteria, categories and prestige surrounding this program have continued to evolve and improve over time.  Now with a diverse range of scientific and customer focused skilled professions, our industry and the awards have come a long way.

With each new year comes a new challenge and 2015 is no different.

The new challenge for Business of the Year entrants in a world where a 20 second clip about a business can be viral in heartbeat is to capture footage to support your submission while creating a shareable asset.

Sure – the supporting video required for entry needs to confirm the content provided in your submission but it is also an opportunity for you to ”be the expert,” and to create a video that is “…funny, clever and somewhat true”.  These are wise words offered from future technology guru and Principal at Future Point of View, Scott Klososky when discussing the development of online assets in a social marketing workshop hosted by Horticulture Australia last year.

It is important to remember that the priority for Judges will be the content of the video and how it supports your submission response.  Professional production of a video is not an expectation of the awards program.

Support is available! If you require assistance please visit our online resource for 4 steps to creating a video. Alternatively, Matt Carroll the industry’s social guru is available to assist by email at awards@ngia.com.au or on 02 8861 5100.

Entries for the 2015 Nursery & Garden Awards close 22 September 2014. Enter online today.
