Collection for the 2020 Nursery Industry Statistics survey is underway. But in order best represent the true value of Australia’s nursery industry, help from growers and nursery landscapers and retailers is needed.
Greater participation will address key data gaps for the nursery industry and provide a more accurate picture of its social and economic contribution. For the first time, we are also including landscapers and retailers in the survey will help identify greening trends to support future nursery production and improve availability of stock.
Findings from the study will help support our industry’s marketing and advocacy efforts.
The data will also be used to help develop a new version of the Nursery Industry Business Benchmarking Tool which has been used to help provide data-based insights to growers and informing their strategic approaches to business.

Taking a maximum of 20 minutes to complete, the survey can be conducted over the phone or online. As we know it’s a busy time of year, please refer to the below tips to ensure the process is as seamless and efficient as possible.
- Once contacted for participation, nominate the bet person in your business to respond to the survey.
- If conducting a telephone interview, be sure to put the date and time in your diary.
- Whether performing via the phone or online, make sure you know what information you are being asked to provide and have it in front of you before you start the survey.
