New Board elected at NGIA Annual General Meeting

The new Nursery & Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) Board was elected at the Annual General Meeting held in Sydney on Tuesday 25 November 2014

The election of two NGIA Board members from Tasmania, and South Australia was confirmed at the NGIA Annual General Meeting. Officers for 2014-2015 were elected at the Board meeting on Wednesday 26 November.

The members of the NGIA Board are:

 

  • Mike Mehigan, Elegant Outdoors, NSW (President)
  • Simon Smith, The Plantsmith NT (Vice President)
  • Karen Brock, Brocklands, TAS (new)
  • Geoffrey Fuller, Wholesale Plants and Products SA (new)
  • Colin Groom, Domus Nursery, WA
  • Hamish Mitchell, Speciality Trees,VIC

 

Karen Brock replaces Mark Geeves and Geoffrey Fuller replaces Craig Norman who had both served their full terms as Directors.

In thanking both gentlemen for their input to the Board Mike Mehigan passed on the thanks from all Members for the efforts made at both committee level and in Craig case as National President. Mark and Craig both joined the Board in 2008 and have been part of the growth, challenges and changes within the industry.

The Board also accepted the resignation of Bryan Hillier who has stepped down from the Board mid term. Mike thanked Bryan for his involvement for a second period having served as President in 2009/2011
