The 14th National Street Tree Symposium was recently hosted by Treenet on the 4th & 5th of September in Adelaide.
Treenet is a non-profit organisation which has an interest in promoting, researching and sharing knowledge of street trees and the urban forest. Treenet has a wide range of institutional members including Councils, Growers, Arborists, Academic Institutions, Landscapers and Landscape Architectural firms not to mention NGIA.
The Symposium hosted annually brings together these diverse groups to hear new research, network and discuss issues pertaining to trees in the urban environment.
This year saw some excellent presentations including the influence urban trees have on the quality of marine life, the use of recycled water on parklands, tree establishment in the urban environment and an update on the avenues of honour project.
